Uganda
In Uganda EQUIP has completed budget costing and impact modelling of the Test & Start policy and the results were accepted for Poster Presentation at the July 2017 International AIDS Society (IAS) Conference held in Paris. Moving forward to the next phase, EQUIP’s focus area in Uganda will centre around providing a cost-outcomes evaluation of the differentiated models of antiretroviral therapy (ART) service delivery. This phase is primarily aimed at the UNAIDS third 90; helping 90% of all people receiving ART in Uganda achieve viral suppression.

About Uganda
After its independence in 1962, Uganda is considered to have potential as a “bread basket” of Africa, with its rich natural resources, and significant rural population. Although health indicators are steadily improving, Uganda’s population is among the fastest growing in the world. The population growth rate has led to an explosion in the number of young people, with over 50% of the population under 15 and 75 percent under the age of 30.
