Dr. Thembi Xulu

Chief of Party

MBChB (UKZN), Dip Obst (SA), Dip HIV Man (SA), MPH (Wits), World Fellow 2010 (Yale University)

Dr. Thembisile Xulu, Managing Director of Right to Care Health Services, was appointed Chief of Party of the Right to Care led, multi-country grant – EQUIP – in 2015.  EQUIP is a consortium of African based partners that delivers rapid scale up of innovative HIV treatment and prevention solutions to expedite the UNAIDS 90-90-90 targets in PEPFAR countries.  

Dr. Xulu joined Right to Care in 2004 as the Expert Treatment Programme Manager. In 2007, she was appointed to the board of directors and placed in charge of clinical programmes. In 2010, Dr. Xulu was made a 2010 Yale World Fellow after completing the respected Yale World Fellows programme, a global leadership development initiative and a core element of Yale’s ongoing commitment to international development. Prior to her appointment as Managing Director, Dr. Xulu led government provincial programmes for four years.  

 

Dr. Siphiwe Mndaweni

Deputy Chief of Party

Medically-trained, Dr. Siphiwe Mndaweni (MBChB) brings over a decade of experience working in public health policy and program implementation. After completing the Albertina Sisulu Executive Leadership Program, she received a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Systems Management and Executive Leadership. Dr. Siphiwe has extensive experience in public health, managed health care and research. Her previous positions include Chief Director, Strategic Health Programmes, Kwazulu-Natal Department of Health; Chief of Party, National TB Programme, USAID; and Deputy Director General, District Health Services, KwaZulu-Natal, Department of Health.

Among some of Dr. Siphiwe’s professional accomplishments include managing and supervising the overall implementation of the HIV, TB, Child and Maternal Health Programmes in KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Department of Health.

Dr. Ntombi Sigwebela

Deputy Chief of Party

Dr Ntombi Mhlongo-Sigwebela (MBBcH, Dip HSM) has worked in TB and HIV program management for over ten years in public and private health sector in South Africa and internationally. She worked as director of the TASC II TB Project before becoming chief of party for the USAID TB Program in South Africa. Before moving to EQUIP, Dr Sigwebela was director of Aquity Innovations a local entity of University Research (URC).  She brings 14 years’ experience implementing donor funded projects (USAID, CDC, The Union, WHO and The World Bank) in South Africa and neighboring countries.
